Trauma can be a universal experience impacting us individually, historically, physically, emotionally as well as socially with such events as COVID changing our daily lives and getting in the way of our overall wellness. Do you work with trauma-impacted populations? Are you dealing with organizational trauma with high burn out and high turn over? Are you a trauma-informed/culturally aware organization? This professional development support may be exactly what you need to shape or further shape the cultures that allow increased skill, awareness, trust, productivity, and collective wellness.

  • Trainings & Workshops

All learning experiences are rooted in a pedagogy that engaged the values of minds like Bell Hooks and Paulo Freire where all participants are encouraged to view themselves as both teachers and learners. For this reason, all workshops/trainings involve exercises, are discussion based, and invite folks to think about and, in some instances, create action plans to find ways to take what they have learned and put it into practice in their daily lives/work environments. In addition, all workshops/trainings are customized in collaboration with the needs of the contracting organization to make sure each experience contributes to the growth of the participants as it relates to their work.

    *See list of trainings below.

  • Leadership Coaching & Support

There aren’t many managers who were taught how to manage the inner workings of other people let alone a team dealing with the impact of COVID and/or a high need trauma-impacted population. So how do you lead in the midst of such challenge? How might you navigate your own traumas and work to not have them project onto your team? How do you recognize when the challenges on your team are less about the team and more about vicarious and secondary trauma impact as well as organizational trauma? Through this specific type of coaching support, leaders will learn how to shape goals for themselves and their teams that align with building awareness around how to identify and reduce the impact of trauma in their organization and within their teams.

  • Non- Clinical Supervision & Check-ins

Creating spaces for teams to learn through custom designed interactive practices and dialogue help folks integrate knowledge in both the mind and body in ways that offers the challenge of growth with the ease needed to stay present and engaged. This approach applies to offering trainings and Non-clinical supervision support for organizations working to support communities impacted by trauma and other adverse experiences.

  • Retreats & Strategic Planning

Wether you need to build trust within your team, to strategize around tough topics, develop new policies and practices, or simply have a space where you can foster restoration, these customized experiences allow teams to come together with ease, intention, and care with someone else holding the space. This offering includes pre-event consult and proposal, pre-event team survey, planning check-ins, letter to the team with agenda, facilitation, and post-event team survey.

Additional Options Can include: Yoga Sessions, Sound Bath, Mindfulness Practices, and retreat/planning wellness kits.

  • Environmental Assessment

Can you look around your office and notice who is represented? Do you see people who are of various racial backgrounds, who may have visible challenges, folks of various religions or spirituality, or sexual orientations? Do you notice who is present and who might be missing? Can your team and/or the population you support see themselves around them? Using a trauma-informed/ healing-centered, DEIBJ, and Empowerment Model of Care, looks at the organizational environment you are in and highlight any areas that can benefit from increased representation. Each assessment is paired with a staff survey and a proposal with recommendations.

Additional support: Designing and implementing the increased representation plan.

  • Policy and Systems Review

Have you updated your policies or systems to reflect the changing needs of your team, organizational mission, vision, values, or population? Have you also updated your assessment forms, questionnaires, or other materials? Do they inquire about trauma in the population you work with (if appropriate)? Do your forms show you respect and value the identities of prospective employees, your team, and those you support?

This offering allows you to share your needs and for a targeted or an organizational wide review of current policies and systems in order to help you meet the goals you have to move the organization forward.
